1, IELTS
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a widely accepted and recognized international standardized test for evaluating English language ability. It aims to evaluate the English ability of non-native English speakers from four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The IELTS test is jointly managed by the British Council, Cambridge Assessment English and Australian IDP Education. There are two kinds of exams: academic exams and general exams. The specific content and form of the exam will be adjusted according to the exam category.
IELTS scores are expressed in integers and decimals, with a total score of 9 points. Each skill (listening, speaking, reading and writing) will be scored independently and presented in the form of single score and comprehensive score.
Different countries and institutions may have different requirements for IELTS scores. Generally speaking, IELTS scores can be used to apply for studying abroad, immigration application, vocational certification and so on.
In order to prepare for IELTS, candidates can attend the IELTS pre-test training class, practice listening, speaking, reading and writing, and be familiar with the test questions and requirements. At the same time, you can also use relevant reference materials and reference books to evaluate and improve yourself through mock exams.
2. TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language)
TOEFL (English as a Foreign Language Test) is a widely used international standardized test, which is used to evaluate the English language ability of non-native English speakers. It aims to help candidates enter universities and academic institutions in the United States and other English-speaking countries.
TOEFL is managed and sponsored by educational testing service (ETS). The content of the examination includes four parts: listening, reading, speaking and writing, aiming at evaluating candidates' English application ability in these aspects.
The listening and reading part of the TOEFL test mainly examines the examinee's ability to understand English listening and reading materials, including articles, academic lectures and dialogues.
The oral part requires candidates to answer questions, express their opinions or describe their experiences, and make oral communication. In the writing section, candidates are required to write an independent article or make a statement on reading and listening materials.
TOEFL scores are expressed in integers and decimals, with total scores ranging from 0- 120. Different universities and academic institutions have different requirements for TOEFL. Generally speaking, TOEFL scores are often used as an important reference for applying for studying abroad, academic research or vocational certification.
