Colored oil can't. The surface tension is too high to form thin, uniform and fluid droplets, which is difficult to meet the needs of Shui Ying's painting. Naphtha is a light fraction of petroleum refining, which has small surface tension and is insoluble in water. It is most suitable for water shadow painting, but it is said to be toxic and irritate the respiratory tract. The toner used in water shadow painting is also relatively fine and can be fixed in a very thin oil film. If the particles are too coarse, they will sink. You can try to use turpentine or kerosene and diesel to dilute the color of oil painting. The effect may not be very good, but you can try. The container is filled with clear water, which is put in a glass jar with light at the bottom to highlight the Shui Ying effect. The main component of Kaisailu is glycerol, which is easily soluble in water, and the surface tension of glycerol is relatively large. Adding glycerol to water can increase the surface tension of water and further ensure that the oil film is smooth and thin and does not condense on the water surface. The water depth doesn't matter, which has no effect on the buoyancy of the surface oil film, but it is easy to operate at a deeper depth, and 5 to 10 cm is enough.
Finally, it is better to wipe it with rice paper. Xuan paper has strong water absorption, and the fiber absorbs water evenly, which will not destroy the image of water shadow painting. If you use watercolor paper, it will cause the deformation of the painting.
