Stanford University, full name of Leland Stanford Junior, or translated name of Stanford University, is usually directly called Stanford University. Located in Stanford, California, USA, it is a world-renowned private research university.
Its campus is located in Palo Alto, California, adjacent to San Francisco, covering an area of 35 square kilometers. It is the second largest university in the United States, and ranks alongside Harvard University as an academic center on both sides of the United States.
The school has trained many high-tech product leaders and entrepreneurial talents, including founders of Hewlett-Packard, Google, Yahoo, Nike, Logitech Electronics, Tesla Motors, Firefox, EA, Sun Microsystems, NVIDIA, Cisco, Silicon Valley Graphics and Yi Bei. According to the Princeton Review 20 10 and 20 13, Stanford is the "dream school" with the largest number of parents and students in the United States. According to the Gallup poll published in 2003, it is also the second most prestigious institution in the eyes of the American public. In 20 12, Forbes, an American business magazine, praised Stanford University as a "leading university because it has made Silicon Valley and led the development of the world economy and scientific and technological products". The New York Times and Slate magazine even mentioned Stanford's status and reputation as "the symbol of American universities".
