Jiangxi Chemical Technician School is 1978 established with the approval of the provincial government, and it is a school owned by the whole people to train middle and senior technical workers. The college is located on Qingshan Lake Avenue in Nanchang, adjacent to Nanchang High-tech Development Zone and the scenic Qingshan Lake. Take Bus No.8 and Bus No.216 in the urban area to get to the college directly. College is the deputy head of East China Cooperation Group of National Chemical Vocational and Technical Education.

1994 with the approval of the Ministry of labor, a "national vocational skills appraisal institute" was established in the school, which is responsible for the training and appraisal of vocational skills of high and intermediate organic chemical engineering, inorganic chemical engineering, chemical analysis, computer and other majors. While completing the reform of internal management system, the college has entered the ranks of national key technical schools. At the beginning of 2004, Jiangxi Institute of Chemical Technology was approved to be established.
