Guide to preparing for CET-4
CET-4 is an important part of college English course and an important symbol of college students' English level. This paper will introduce the difficulty, curriculum and preparation strategies of CET-4 to help you prepare for the exam better.

Medium difficulty

The difficulty of CET-4 is moderate, the listening questions are similar to those of CET-4, and the difficulty of other parts is slightly lower than that of college entrance examination (medium level and above provinces). The vocabulary requirement is not high, so students who have just walked out of the college entrance examination need not worry too much.

Candidate distribution

Grade four candidates are mainly in the second and third grades, and there are relatively few in the first and fourth grades. Candidates need to arrange the preparation plan reasonably according to their English level and preparation time.

course

Peking University requires CET-4 to be compulsory, and requires students to complete four English courses. Students who pass the second grade need to study the second, third and fourth courses and take an English course; Students who pass CET-4 only need to study CET-4 and take three English subjects. Therefore, the difficulty of Level 3 and Level 4 courses is not important. After completing college English courses, students can choose various English major courses, such as oral English, listening and speaking, and appreciation of famous movies.

Preparation strategy

You don't need to worry too much, and you don't need to be over-prepared. Just show your English level. It is a waste of time to make mistakes deliberately in order to get high marks in English. If you manage to pass CET-3 and CET-4, it will be difficult to keep up with the classroom rhythm and achieve the desired results. College English courses are less, only two hours a week, and more rely on self-study and joining English clubs (there are many English clubs and resources for international students in Peking University).
