The history of professional music education in Guangdong can be traced back to the Guangzhou Conservatory of Music, which was founded in 1932 by Ma Sicong and Chen Hong, pioneers of modern music education in China. 1957 10 Guangzhou Music School was established by Guangdong Provincial Government, which enabled modern professional music education in this area to continue.
