Brief introduction of Japanese Language Institute

Japanese College was established in September, 1995. It is formed by the merger of the former Japanese Department, the training department for overseas students of Dalian Foreign Studies University directly under the Ministry of Education, and the Japanese Department of Foreign Studies University (including Japanese knowledge magazines). Japanese major is a basic major of Dalian Foreign Studies University and a key discipline in Liaoning Province. Over the past 43 years, especially since the reform and opening up, Japanese major has made great progress in teaching, scientific research, the construction of teaching staff, the scale of running schools, and the training mode of talents. Today, she has developed from a single language major when Dalian Japanese College was founded in 1964 to a multi-trend professional model including language and literature, culture, computer, international trade, tour guide, law (jointly organized with Jilin University) and management (jointly organized with Dalian University of Technology), and has become the largest Japanese education and training base in Japan and abroad. Japanese Language Institute is also the examiner of the self-study exam for Japanese majors and junior college students in Liaoning Province, which is the earliest self-study exam for Japanese undergraduates in China.

At present, the number of professional teachers, graduate students and undergraduates in Japanese Language Institute is the largest among Japanese majors in domestic universities.

Japan Language Institute has made great achievements in scientific research. At present, all professional teaching materials are compiled by teachers, and the construction of teaching materials is in a leading position among Japanese majors in colleges and universities across the country. According to statistics, teachers of Japanese Language Institute have published more than 50 monographs, translations and dictionaries 150 at home and abroad, and published more than 600 papers in academic journals and international seminars at home and abroad. Among them, New Japanese-Chinese Dictionary, Learning Japanese, Japanese Contemporary Literature Series and College Japanese are widely praised by the society.

Japan Language Institute has made remarkable achievements in foreign exchange. At present, it has established friendly exchange relations with more than ten schools, including Kitakyushu City University, Kyushu University, Kyushu Women's University, Waseda University, Polaris Academy University, Hiroshima Culture and Education Women's University, Okayama Commercial Vehicle University, Hokuriku University, Kagoshima International University, Nagoya Foreign Studies University, Aoyama College University, takushoku university, Fukuoka Women's College University and * * * Rong University. Well-known Japanese scholars such as Junichi Watanabe, Mizutani Hideyoshi, Hamada Keisuke, Yucun Wenlang, Asami Izumi, Bush Hongtai, Okujin Keiichiro, etc. have been successively employed as honorary professors in our college. Every year, several teachers are sent to Japan to give lectures or study, and dozens of graduate students and undergraduates are sent to friendly universities to study for one or two years. Over the past 30 years, Japanese friendly people, friendly groups and local governments have donated a large number of books and teaching equipment to the Japanese Language Institute, and at the same time, they have also established scholarships and teaching and research award funds such as Sasakawa Scholarship, Guanyuan Scholarship, Toyama Friendship Memorial Scholarship, Yamamoto Daiko Scholarship and Nakamura Research Award Fund.

The Japanese Language Institute has six scientific research institutions: Japanese Culture Research Center, Japanese Poetry Research Center, Japanese Literature Research Institute, Sino-Japanese Comparative Language and Culture Research Institute, Japanese Language Education Research Institute and Japanese Applied Language Research Institute. There are also overseas examination centers set up in our school by Japanese knowledge magazine and the examination center of the Ministry of Education. There is also a multimedia network center and a Japanese teahouse.

Up to now, Japanese College has trained nearly 5,000 undergraduate and junior college graduates, nearly 50 master students, more than 2,000 graduate students who have taken the self-taught examination for Japanese majors, and more than 654.38+0,000 public and self-funded preparatory personnel to study abroad. They are active in diplomacy, foreign affairs, economy and trade, science and technology, education, culture and other fields, and have made important contributions to the country's economic development, spiritual civilization construction and Sino-Japanese friendship.
