As a former programmer and now a Java training lecturer, my experience is that when recruiting people for interviews, I felt that many trained skills were too poor and too few were good. Now, when I say that my students are not good at technology, I roll up my sleeves ... (fortunately, no one says that my students are not good at technology now ...)
