Popular songs of Harbin Engineering University are played and sung by violin, viola, cello, double bass, saxophone, clarinet, oboe, flute, trumpet, trombone, horn, percussion and piano.

The school established the Harbin Engineering University Orchestra on 20 10.

The conductor of the orchestra is Professor Sun, the director of the Art Center of the quality education base of our school and the first-class national conductor, and the chief is the music director and the doctor of musicology. The orchestra is trained and managed by the quality education base of the school. It belongs to the College Students Art Troupe and has more than 60 members.

Since its establishment, the orchestra has been active in the music and cultural arena inside and outside the school.
