Before Taekwondo was officially named, there were many schools of unarmed combat in Korea. The names also include Taekwondo heel, hand racket, Tang hand, shoulder brace, flower wave road and so on. Taekwondo is one of the official events of the modern Olympic Games, and its history is influenced by Korea's long history and culture, so it has a strong Korean cultural color.
In ancient times, the Korean people lived mainly on agriculture, and hunted animals in their leisure time. In order to protect their homes, people have developed a set of martial arts to keep fit and defend themselves in times of crisis. This time-honed martial art has become a purposeful and conscious activity, and it is the embryonic form of ancient Taekwondo. When studying historical relics (such as ancient books and murals), sports historians found that Taekwondo was related to Taekwondo in the Three Kingdoms period on the Korean Peninsula. Its roots can even be traced back to ancient unarmed combat. Hands and feet are mainly used for fighting or confrontation.
