Main work of Guangdong Institute of Microbiology
At present, the scientific and technological business of the Institute mainly includes scientific and technological innovation, impartial supervision and testing, achievement transformation and industrialization, among which the scientific and technological innovation mainly relies on the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Germplasm Conservation and Application and the Guangdong Provincial Microbiology Application New Technology Laboratory; The impartiality supervision and testing mainly depends on Guangdong Microbiological Analysis and Testing Center and Guangdong Edible Fungi Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station. The carriers of achievement transformation and industrialization are mainly four R&D centers integrating scientific research, development, production and management, such as Edible Fungi R&D Center (Guangdong Yue Wei Edible Fungi Technology Co., Ltd.), Microbial Testing New Technology R&D Center (Guangdong Huankai Microbial Technology Co., Ltd.), Microbial Engineering R&D Center (Guangdong Di Mei Biotechnology Co., Ltd.) and Environmental Microbiology R&D Center (Guangdong Southern Technology Product Development Co., Ltd.). And Guangdong Tianchen Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Bide Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and other two R&D centers. The key areas are genetic engineering and applied research of microorganisms, breeding and fermentation engineering of microorganisms, treatment of environmental microorganisms and pollutants, detection, diagnosis and prevention of microorganisms, diversity research and early development of microbial resources. At present, the institute has formed four dominant disciplines: environmental microbiology, resource microbiology, analytical microbiology and mildew microbiology, and has the ability to train doctoral students and master students. At present, 1 1 person, a discipline leader with first-class and second-class titles, has undertaken a large number of major projects such as national "863", funds, provincial and municipal funds, scientific research, high-tech and science and technology aid to Tibet. The Institute has the largest microbial strain resource bank and large fungal specimen museum in South China, and is a microbial resource center with tropical and subtropical advantages and characteristics in South China.
