What is the vocational education and skills training for retired soldiers?

In order to meet the requirements of the socialist market economy, improve the employability of retired soldiers and promote their full employment, the state provides free vocational education and skills training for retired soldiers. Self-employed retired soldiers who retired from active service on or after 20 10 may choose to participate in vocational education and skills training for free within 1 year after their retirement from active service. The duration of education and training is generally 2 years, and the shortest is 3 months. Retired soldiers who have been discharged from active service 1 year or more shall participate in vocational training in accordance with the policies stipulated in the State Council's Opinions on Strengthening Vocational Training to Promote Employment (Guo Fa [2010] No.36).
