According to FIFA, the 30 referees who will judge the World Cup in South Africa are from Asian Football Association (4), African Football Association (4), Central, North and Caribbean Football Association (4), South American Football Association (6), Oceania Football Association (2) and European Football Association (10), and they are from England, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Europe respectively.
The selection of referees for the World Cup in South Africa began in 2007. At first, 54 referees were selected for referee training. In 2008, 38 referees were selected for the second stage of training and testing, and received physical examination, physical fitness, psychology, English and referee ability tests, and were interviewed by the referee Committee. 30 of them were finally selected.
FIFA said that the selected referees will attend the seminar in March this year and receive the final evaluation in May. Subsequently, the FIFA Referee's Committee will determine the list of referees for formal law enforcement and preparation.
Mu Yuxin, a China referee who was shortlisted as an assistant referee, has been in charge of the top league in China since 2002. In 2005, he represented Tianjin and participated in the men's soccer finals of the 10th National Games as the only referee, which was well received. In July 2007, he was the only referee who represented China in the U23 World Cup. In 2008, he was appointed by FIFA to participate in the football referee work in the Olympic qualifiers for many times, and in 2008, he entered the Asian assistant referee candidate for the 20 10 World Cup.
