In order to commemorate "614" World Blood Donor Day, Dalian Blood Donation Office and Dalian Blood Center recently jointly hosted the invitational competition of Dalian University Students' Theme Debate Competition "Spreading warmth with love and touching the world with true feelings". The participating teams are Liaoning Normal University and Dalian University of Technology. More than 700 blood donation volunteers and blood center employees participated in the debate.
The jury of this competition is composed of five experts, namely: Mao Jiemin, the image ambassador of blood donation in Dalian and director of the editorial office of Dalian TV Station; Professor Xiao, Professor of Naval Naval Academy and Director of Liaoning Aesthetic Education Society; Yu Jingning, a well-known essay writer and outstanding expert in Dalian who enjoys special allowance from the State Council; Zhao Xiushan, a famous sociologist and professor; An Wanxin, deputy director of Dalian Blood Donation Office, director of Dalian Blood Center, outstanding expert of Dalian and master tutor. After careful evaluation by the jury, the champions of the debate were selected: the main team of Liaoning Normal University and the second team of Dalian University of Technology. The best debaters in the debate are Xu Xinya, the second debater of the positive side, and Chang Xin, the second debater of the negative side.
The debate was successfully held and broadcast on Dalian TV 1 on World Blood Donor Day, which had a far-reaching social impact.

On June 14, World Blood Donor Day, the 6th Dalian Blood Donation Star Award was announced, and 30 people including Yu Jun and Liu Mingyuan won the honorary title of "6th Dalian Blood Donation Star".
The common characteristics of the 30 blood donation stars elected this year are: they are all winners of the National Donation Award. This shows that they are not only outstanding representatives of unpaid blood donors in Dalian, but also outstanding in the national blood donation team. The youngest is Zhao Tingting, a 24-year-old girl who donated 1200ml whole blood and 33 therapeutic doses of platelets in three years. The oldest is the 54-year-old female teacher Duan of Dalian Xigang Middle School. Since 200 1, she has donated 2200ml whole blood and 30 therapeutic doses of platelets. Liu Mingyuan, 3 1 year-old, is a three-time blood donor star. Since the promulgation of the Blood Donation Law in 2008, he has donated 4400 ml of whole blood and 7 1 therapeutic dose of platelets.
There were about 20 blood donation stars in previous years. Because Dalian citizens actively donate blood, the number of unpaid blood donors has been increasing for many years. In recognition of their dedication, the number of blood donation stars has increased to 30 this year.
Dalian has re-established the criteria and requirements for the selection of "blood donation stars" in combination with the new national recognition and reward method for blood donation. At the beginning of June, according to the ranking of blood donation in the whole city, the sixth "Blood Donation Star" in Dalian selected 30 people. Their deeds and photos were published in Dalian Evening News on June 13. The winners felt disgraced and the losers had goals. Since the selection of "blood donation stars" was launched in 2005, there have been more than 100 "blood donation stars" in Dalian. The title of "Blood Donation Star" has become a brand of blood donors, and it is the lifelong glory of regular unpaid blood donors in Dalian.
There are more than 10,000 regular blood donors in Dalian, and they have become a love mobile blood bank in Dalian because they insist on donating blood for free all the year round. The amount of blood donated by regular blood donors in Dalian accounts for more than 40% of the annual blood consumption. In 2009, blood donors who donated 400 ml at one time accounted for 86% of the total number of blood donors, an increase of 29% over last year. This is also a high proportion in the whole country.
Third, increase publicity, the depth and breadth of media coverage are the highest in history.
In June this year, there were a series of reports:
1, the news channel of Dalian TV Station produced an 8-minute TV feature film "Dedication of Love-Entering a Fixed Blood Donor", which gave an in-depth report on typical blood donors and asked them to talk about their feelings of donating blood for the first time and their mental journey of persisting in donating blood for many years.

The Legal Channel of Dalian TV Station invited experts and blood donation stars to make a 20-minute album to commemorate "World Blood Donor Day". 6. 14, answering questions about blood donation knowledge, blood donors and their relatives' blood use, and advocating the spirit of contributing to society and caring for others.

Dalian News News 60 Score reported that Xie Suijian, an Olympic torchbearer, Dalian "Blood Donation Star", winner of the highest national blood donation award and automobile maintenance engineer, donated blood for 0/8 years. When he was about to be over age, his son took the torch of his father's love and became a regular blood donor in Dalian.

China People's Broadcasting Station News and Newspaper Abstract, Voice of China, CCTV International Channel, Liaoning Satellite TV and other national, provincial and municipal news media also reported the news and typical deeds of blood donation in Dalian. It has aroused strong repercussions in the society and achieved very good publicity results.

During the "World Blood Donor Day", Dalian also rewarded the noble behavior of unpaid blood donors with quality services:
1. Strive to build new blood donation houses, improve service facilities and service levels, and create a comfortable and warm service environment for blood donors;
2. Train the service team; Compile a volunteer handbook, and sort out the typical figures and events of Dalian Blood Donation Service Team in detail in the form of pictures and texts, so as to draw a rich and colorful stroke for the second anniversary of the establishment of the Service Team;

On June 14, more than 20 blood donation volunteers from Dalian/Kloc-0 participated in a walking activity to commemorate World Blood Donor Day, including newly elected blood donation stars this year, Rh-negative blood donors who donated blood this year and volunteers who participated in the service. In recent years, Dalian has adopted a series of preferential policies to encourage citizens to donate blood without compensation, and established the first voluntary blood donation club in China. 1 0,000% of medical blood in Dalian has already come from unpaid blood donors, and now more than 1 0,000 people have become unpaid regular blood donors, and nearly 1 40 people have donated more than 1 10,000 ml each. Nowadays, 10 blood collection points (houses and cars) have become the beautiful scenery of civilization construction in Dalian. On average, nearly 200 people roll up their sleeves and donate blood to save lives every day. Last year, the amount of unpaid blood donation in Dalian reached 16.5 tons, and about 70 thousand citizens donated blood to meet the demand. There is still a long way to go to consolidate what we have achieved. We will take June 14 as a new starting point and make unremitting efforts to ensure reliable quality, sufficient quantity, safety and effectiveness of blood for medical use.
