Sichuan International Studies University, referred to as "Chuanwai" for short, is a full-time ordinary university approved by the Ministry of Education and affiliated to the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. It is one of the earliest four foreign language colleges established in China.
The school has now developed into an interdisciplinary foreign language university with foreign languages and literature as the main body and the coordinated development of literature, education, economy, management, law and art. It has a multi-form and multi-level complete school-running system, including doctoral education, master's education, undergraduate education, international student education, continuing education and intensive training.
The school also has a foreign language and literature Post-Doctoral Research Center, which has become an important place for training foreign language and foreign-related talents and studying foreign language and culture, foreign trade and international issues in Southwest China.
