What are the three main stages of teachers' professional development in Britain?
The professional development of British teachers is mainly realized through three stages: pre-service professional preparation, on-the-job training of teachers in the transitional stage and on-the-job training of teachers embodying the idea of lifelong education. In the continuous reform of British higher education in the past 20 years, teaching quality has always been an extremely important theme. Recently, the British government has formulated a professional standard framework for teaching and supporting students' learning in British higher education. This framework is the first professional teaching standard in the field of higher education in the world. Three-level standards of "activity field, core knowledge and professional value" are put forward, which draw a brief index and field for the development project of college teachers. This paper introduces this and comments on its significance. Combined with the training of domestic university teachers, this paper puts forward that we can try to study the teaching professional standards of university teachers.
