In recent years, in addition to being a news announcer and host, Yang Lin also engaged in news gathering and reporting as a reporter. Yang Lin's news "Serve the Farmers Intimately" timely caught the moment when the city leaders had a cordial conversation with the farmers, vividly reappeared a news tidbit that the secretary of the municipal party committee cared about the farmers' lives when inspecting agricultural production, and was highly praised by Professor Yu Dan. This work was rated as the top ten news in the city in 2006. In the same year, as the first journalists to interview ten cities in China, they successfully completed the task of interviewing Wuhan.
In 2007, it coincided with the 60th anniversary of Shijiazhuang's liberation. Yang Lin traveled back and forth between Beijing and Shijiazhuang, and spent a year interviewing veterans who participated in Shijiazhuang's liberation and old intellectuals who participated in Shijiazhuang's construction. After several drafts, he wrote and broadcast the large-scale documentary literature "Shijiazhuang Monument (1947- 1949)". In the same year, the work won the first prize of provincial news.

Professor Yang Lin's courses include Fundamentals of Broadcasting and Hosting, Fundamentals of Broadcasting and Hosting, Fundamentals of Putonghua, and Aviation Broadcasting. He studied at Hebei Foreign Studies University and worked as an art test tutor at Beida Jade Bird Shijiazhuang Training School.
