New Zealand Higher Education Institutions Introduction New Zealand's higher education institutions include universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
So far, there are eight public universities in New Zealand. These universities offer a series of standard degree courses, including science, liberal arts and business and information science, which have emerged in recent years.
At present, there are 18 polytechnics in New Zealand, which provide various vocational and technical training, including short-term courses and three-year and four-year professional degree, diploma and certificate courses. Some polytechnics and universities can exchange credits with each other (for example, business subjects). Students who have studied some courses in polytechnic are recognized by the university and can be exempted from relevant courses after graduation.
There are four independent colleges of education in New Zealand, which are funded by the government and undertake the task of training teachers for primary schools, secondary schools, early childhood education centers and special education institutions.
Degrees of New Zealand universities are approved by academic committees under the Council of Presidents of New Zealand universities, while diplomas issued by polytechnics and some private higher education schools are approved and supervised by the New Zealand Quality Assurance Agency.
New Zealand also has many private training institutions and language schools for foreign students. Second, the list.
