Anhui Provincial Archives, established in 1959, is located in the north of Baohe Scenic Area in the scenic park around the city. It is the storage base and utilization center of the archives of provincial organs and the national first-class archives. The archives in the museum are 1.2 million volumes, which are divided into five parts: archives before Ming and Qing Dynasties, archives of the Republic of China, archives of revolutionary history and archives after the founding of the People's Republic of China. These files have a long history and rich contents, which truly reflect the major historical events and important historical figures in Anhui. They are precious historical materials, important information resources serving the economic, political, cultural and social construction of our province, and rich and vivid teaching materials for patriotism, revolutionary tradition and basic education in the province.

In recent years, the provincial archives, relying on the collection of archives, take the archives exhibition as the main carrier, face the society and the public, vigorously develop archives information resources and enhance the public service ability of archives. Exhibitions such as Anhui Provincial Archives, photo exhibitions commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Anti-Japanese War, photo exhibitions commemorating the 30th anniversary of rural reform and opening up in Anhui Province, photo exhibitions celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, photo exhibitions of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Anhui Province, photo exhibitions of Wang Buwen as the first secretary of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, photo exhibitions of the Xinhai Revolution in Anhui Province, etc. were held successively, and the activities of "Revealing the Red Archives" were carried out.

On April 20 12, the Anhui Provincial Archives Exhibition Hall, built by the Provincial Archives, was officially opened to the public free of charge. The exhibition hall consists of five exhibition halls: orderly hall, archives exhibition hall before Ming and Qing Dynasties, archives exhibition hall in Qing Dynasty, archives exhibition hall in the Republic of China and archives exhibition hall after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It comprehensively uses modern scientific and technological means such as sound, light, electricity and multimedia, and adopts original documents, simulation pieces, physical display, sculpture, specimens, audio and video, multimedia and other display forms. , and showed more than 200 files preserved in archives at all levels in the province, vividly showing the whole province to the public. The 3D cinema in the museum plays the first domestic 3D documentary "Anhui" planned and filmed by the Provincial Archives Bureau, which condenses the essence of Anhui history, allowing the audience to enter the archives in pleasure, feel the history, experience the culture and imagine the future, thus building a bridge between time and space.
