Self-taught degree is recognized by the state, and self-taught graduates enjoy the same treatment as similar graduates in ordinary colleges and universities.

The Higher Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) clearly stipulates that the state implements the system of self-study examination for higher education, and those who pass the examination will be awarded corresponding academic certificates.

The Provisional Regulations on Higher Education Self-taught Examination issued by the State Council clearly stipulates that "the treatment of graduates of higher education self-taught examination is the same as that of similar graduates in ordinary universities".
