My name is Ma Chao, and I come from Class 09 1 of Institute of Technology.
When I first entered the university, I heard a senior say that if you don't have a volunteer in the university, your university life will be almost wasted. Perhaps the expression of this sentence is biased, but to some extent, it is also a good guide to the direction of college life. Today's university is not so much an exquisite ivory tower as a wealthy small society. Reading is no longer the only way to learn here. Organizations such as the Student Union are platforms for your study and exercise, and volunteer activities are an indispensable part of this platform.
So from freshman to junior, I participated in many volunteer activities. When I first came here as a freshman, I participated in the city volunteers for the 60th anniversary of the National Day of the capital, and then I went to the Science and Technology Museum. When I was a sophomore, I participated in the teaching activities of Hongxing Primary School and volunteered as a library for two consecutive semesters. In the past three years, the motivation for me to keep doing voluntary activities is that helping others is happiness.
The voluntary activities of the library are mainly to assist librarians in sorting out books. It does not need to prepare courses for teaching in advance, nor does it need city volunteers to prepare etiquette instructions in advance. It only takes ten minutes of training to work. Ordering and arranging the bibliographic numbers of each kind of books in an orderly way constitutes the whole content of the work. Every time I go to the library to sort out books and shelves, I feel that this kind of volunteer activity is simple and monotonous, but I feel good after completing the task every time. Looking at the corner of the library I decorated, I felt a sense of accomplishment, which not only helped the library teachers, but also exercised my ability to do things seriously and helped me develop the good habit of borrowing books. It is also the result of volunteers' efforts to put away the books I have read and keep the shelves tidy.
During the semester of volunteering in the library, I learned how to sort out the book numbers in the library and how to sort out books according to the numbers. This is a great gain for me. When I used to look for the books I wanted in the library, even if I copied down the numbers, it was difficult for me to find the books I wanted because I didn't know how to read the numbers on the books. Often you can only find the corresponding bookshelf, but you can't find the book. I always stay in the library to read books after work, and I gradually like library volunteer activities. A semester of volunteer work makes me feel that setting books is not as easy as I thought, and it needs persistence and patience.
I think volunteers are a two-way platform. For example, the volunteers of the Olympic Games, we hold such a global event, and we need many friends to volunteer to provide all-round services for all venues, competitions and all aspects of the Olympic Games. The success of this Olympic Games cannot be separated from the wholehearted service of volunteers. At the same time, volunteers not only personally felt and participated in this grand event, but also exercised their abilities, such as communication skills and adaptability, to a great extent.
While serving others, you can enrich yourself and make yourself gain something. Why not? I always believe that no matter what I do, as long as I do it seriously, I will get something. This is also the best proof in my library volunteer service in just one semester. Volunteering in the library taught me a very important word: attitude. I have a deeper understanding of an attitude to do things. Volunteer is a completely independent activity. You don't think the scan is worth doing. If you don't do it, no one will blame you, or if you don't want to come this week, no one will blame you. However, I think volunteers are definitely not a good name. These three words mean that you need to do something, and that your credit will be cashed. Maybe we are volunteers. So I think as long as I do volunteer work with a serious attitude, I will stick to it seriously.
In this short semester, I really felt the enthusiasm of every volunteer, who wholeheartedly believed and contributed to the library for free. Some students also asked me, now the schoolwork is very heavy, isn't it a waste of time for you to be a volunteer, is it worth it, and there is no reward? This reminds me of three words: volunteer. What I think of as a volunteer is a person who pays for others and asks for nothing in return. While serving others and society, I have also been improved, perfected and developed, and my spirit and soul have been satisfied. Therefore, participating in volunteer work is both "helping others" and "self-help", as well as "enjoying others" and "enjoying yourself". When I volunteer, I may lose some time or energy, but this experience can give me another kind of happiness and spiritual satisfaction-I think it is worthwhile.
Everyone wants to be happy, but while we are seeking happiness, we should also think about how to contribute our efforts. Joining volunteers is not only glorious, but also can improve our own spiritual civilization quality, strengthen the harmonious friendship between people, and more importantly, reflect a kind of dedication. This volunteer activity provides us with a good opportunity to exercise and enhance our sense of responsibility. Finally, I would like to thank the college for providing each of us with such a platform to participate in volunteer activities, and wish the volunteer activities in the library can be better and better, and can provide a broader platform for more students.
Practice report of library volunteers
Fangfang (student number 723)5 class teacher
As an intern this summer, my classmates and I went to the library to volunteer for a week. Our main job is to help library staff organize books, which is a valuable practical opportunity for me. I also hope that my practical actions can reflect the quality and consciousness that college students should have.
The work of the library is easier said than done. On weekdays, we borrow books from the library. Looking at the simple process, we naturally think that the difficulty of this work is not worth mentioning, but when we experience it ourselves, we find ourselves so naive and funny. The book arrangement in the library is a system and a science. All the work of the library constitutes a system, which is very complicated, but very simple and practical. It involves the anti-theft of books, the retrieval of books, the situation of books in libraries, the borrowing and returning between libraries, the order of books and so on. So this is a very heavy workload, which requires a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources. In order to give students a good learning environment and provide more convenient help for their study, many library staff are busy for this.
In the process of helping the library to sort out books, we have a deeper understanding of the hardships of librarians, and we have also realized that nothing is as simple as we imagined, if not personally experienced. Give someone a rose, leave a lingering fragrance in your hand. Although it is very tiring to organize books, we have also learned some knowledge about book management and improved our literacy. The praise of classmates and library staff is the best praise for us. Looking at the beautiful library and neatly arranged bookshelves, thinking that students can have a better learning environment, we feel that all the efforts and hard work are worthwhile, and the process of labor is indeed mutually beneficial and win-win.
China has a long history and a long history of culture. Despite the war and dynasty changes, the civilization of more than 5,000 years has not been interrupted. It is the accumulation and circulation of books from ancient times to the present that keeps the blood of Chinese civilization alive. It is these ink-scented papers that have brewed Chinese civilization from generation to generation, and the history of Chinese civilization is a book history. China has a tradition of attaching importance to reading, which is an eternal topic. Reading has a strong sense of the times, different times have different reading, influenced by political, economic, educational and other social factors at that time.
In this practice, I have learned more about the importance of the library in cultivating readers. At the same time, we also realize the importance of reading to cultivate our own cultural literacy. In modern society, the library is undoubtedly the best place to improve the humanistic quality of college students in China. We should learn to get along with others, enhance team spirit and affinity for nature. In addition to accepting the promotion of humanistic quality education in schools. Therefore, we should make full use of library resources to improve our humanistic quality. As Goethe said: "Reading a good book is talking to many noble people."
Besides, I also learned some methods of library work. We mainly did two jobs: labeling and classifying books. Although they are very simple tasks, we also learn a lot from them.
From this practice, I learned the skills of interpersonal communication and dealing with others. I can see my own value in interpersonal communication. People are often very persistent. However, if you only ask about cultivation and don't ask about harvest, then you will certainly make many friends. Treat friends, never haggle over every ounce, never force them to pay the true feelings equivalent to yours. You must know that giving is more pleasant than receiving. No matter what you do, you must have initiative and enthusiasm, have confidence in success, learn to communicate with people around you, care for others and support others.
See the micro-knowledge, be conceited. In fact, everything is like this, and we must experience the hardships through personal practice. This is true in study and life. In learning, we can't ignore seemingly simple knowledge. There is no difference between knowledge and inferiority. Nothing is as simple and easy as imagined. Only when you calm down and study hard can you have a chance to break through a world academically. We should guard against arrogance and rashness, be down-to-earth, never underestimate a detail, and never let go of a detail, so as to truly understand knowledge points and even learn from each other. The same is true in life. Opportunities will only favor people who are practical and willing to suffer.
It is of great significance for me to participate in social practice in the library this summer. I got a lot of inspiration from it, learned a lot of things that are not involved in textbooks, and realized the meaning of labor more deeply. These gains will also play a very important role in my growth. In life, study and future work will benefit a lot.
