Guangke, whose full name is Guangdong Vocational College of Science and Technology, is a full-time public college approved by Guangdong Provincial People's Government 1985 and filed by the Ministry of Education.

At the beginning of its establishment, the College was named Guangdong Science and Technology Cadre College, which was mainly responsible for the continuing education and training of Guangdong science and technology management cadres, and was called "a pearl of local continuing education" by the Ministry of Science and Technology. 1989 was renamed Guangdong institute of science and technology cadres, and 1996 became one of the first institutions in Guangdong province to hold general higher vocational education.
