1. Organize and implement the national, provincial and municipal regional trials of new crop varieties in strict accordance with the requirements, and provide scientific basis for the approval and large-scale popularization and application of new crop varieties.

In the first half of the year, the national, provincial and municipal regional trial projects of new crop varieties were completed, including five categories of rice, peanuts, sweet corn, vegetables and soybeans 18 special projects. Including "national regional test of new rice varieties (Southern Group)", national regional test and production test of new soybean varieties (Southern Group), national display and regional test of new fresh (sweet and waxy) corn varieties, regional test of new conventional high-quality rice varieties in Guangdong Province, and regional test of new hybrid rice combinations in Guangdong Province.

2, relying on the national, provincial and municipal agricultural science and technology projects, focusing on applied basic research, and strive to build a platform for breeding new varieties of main crops.

In the first half of the year, the Institute undertook to complete the scientific and technological key project 18 of "Breeding and Popularization of New Sweet Corn Varieties with High Quality and High Yield" and other provinces, municipalities and institutes, established a relatively complete germplasm resource garden and variety breeding garden for new sweet corn, rice and vegetables, and collected, preserved and hybridized more than 560 breeding materials such as rice, corn and vegetables. The sweet (waxy) corn 15 combination was bred, and the varieties Tianhui No.9 and Huinuo 1 were bred, which were more outstanding than those in the experiment, so as to prepare for the recommended regional trial of later production. Through crossing, self-crossing and pedigree selection, six new varieties of high-quality conventional rice and new vegetable combinations such as 2 1 eggplant, bitter gourd and towel gourd were selected. Compared with the control varieties, these combinations have the advantages of excellent quality, high yield and remarkable benefits. Focus on building a platform for the transformation, promotion and application of achievements, actively do a good job in demonstration, promotion and scientific and technological services in the form of on-site observation, and make full use of technological advantages to serve agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
