The School of International Defence of PLA National Defence University, affiliated to PLA National Defence University, is the highest level of foreign training for China's army. Its main task is to train senior foreign officers, civilian officials and some China officers, and to conduct international exchanges and academic discussions in the field of national defense and security.

The International Defense Academy is a newly established teaching institution after the inaugural meeting of the newly reorganized Academy of Military Sciences, National Defense University and National University of Defense Technology in July 20 17.

Historical evolution:

The International Defence College of PLA National Defence University was formerly known as the Fourth Department of Nanjing Military Academy, the Fourth Department of Beijing Higher Military Academy, the Foreign Training Department of Military Academy, the Foreign Training Department of National Defence University and the National Defence College of National Defence University.

The School of International Defence of PLA National Defence University was born at the beginning of the founding of New China. Its predecessor was the Foreign Students Department of Nanjing Military College and the Foreign Teachers Department of Beijing Higher Military College.

1969, two departments merged and located in Changping, Beijing. It has been called the Fifth Brigade of Military and Political University, the Foreign Training Department of Military Academy (Beijing) and the Foreign Training Department of National Defense University (Foreign Students Department).

In May 2004, with the approval of the Central Military Commission, it was renamed National Defense College of National Defense University.

2065438+July 2007, with the approval of the Central Military Commission, the college was officially renamed as the International Defence College of the National Defence University of the People's Liberation Army. It is a world-class advanced military vocational education college named after an international college.

The International Defence College has a diversified and high-level faculty, and widely invites experts and professors, senior government officials and military generals at home and abroad, inside and outside the military, and inside and outside the school to give lectures. Military courses are taught by experts and professors from the National Defense University and the Central Military Commission, as well as senior commanding officers from various arms and services. The military and political general education course invites diplomatic envoys in China, well-known experts and scholars and senior government officials to give lectures.
