1. Phonetics: Syllables in modern Chinese are generally divided into two parts: initials and finals. Relatively speaking, there are few disyllabic and polysyllabic morphemes in Chinese, and most of them come from ancient disyllabic words, overlapping words, loanwords and onomatopoeic words.

Grammatically, compared with Indo-European, Chinese presents a series of characteristics different from analytical languages: Chinese lacks form, word order and function words are the main means to express grammatical meaning, and Chinese lacks form, that is, lacks morphological changes to express grammatical meaning.
