Datura is transliterated in Sanskrit, and it is called Jikuo in Tibetan, which means altar or city of altar. It refers to "the gathering place of all sages and virtues", is the highest realm of Buddhism, is the model and schema of the mysterious residence of the tantric gods of Tibetan Buddhism, and is the "cosmic picture in the mind" when monks and Tibetans practice the secret method daily. In Buddhist scriptures, Datura means "Yi Yi", that is, everyone who sees it will feel happy. In China, Datura is regarded as the sacred object of Buddhism, and only the lucky ones have the opportunity to see it, which can bring endless happiness to people.

Puning Temple, as one of the essences of the Eight Outer Temples in Chengde, is the largest Buddhist activity place in northern China, and it is also a must for tourists to visit Chengde. Different from other temples in Chengde, Puning Temple is the only temple in Chengde where monks live. The incense is at its peak, and monks gather here. The biggest attraction of Puning Temple is that the whole complex constitutes the world image of a Buddhist country with Buddhism as the main body.
