Qingyun Mountain is located in the northwest of Hexi Town, Lufeng City, and Dingguang Temple is built under Qingyun Mountain. Originally named Qingyun Temple, Dingguang Temple was built in Chongzhen four years in Ming Dynasty (163 1). This temple is a famous Buddhist temple in Dongjiang area. The theme building Daxiong Hall is magnificent, covering an area of 700 square meters. The word "Hall of Great Heroes" was inscribed by Zhao Puchu, Chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. There are inscriptions, stone carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings and other historical relics in Xiansi during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
1996, the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Religious Affairs approved the establishment of the Buddhist College in Dingguang Temple (formerly known as the Sangha Training Course in Dingguang Temple), and changed its name to Guangdong Luminous Buddhist College in 1998. The college has grown from the initial dozens to more than 20 mages and more than 300 Nigerian students. Students come from temples in various provinces and cities across the country. The college openly enrolls students once a year. The six-year course of the college is divided into two levels: two-year preparatory course and four-year undergraduate course.
Since September 2000, the postgraduate course has been offered for three years. Arihoshi building, student building, teaching building and library are under construction, which can accommodate nearly a thousand people in prayer hall and fasting hall. This is the largest single outstanding Buddhist college in China with the largest number of students and relatively perfect teaching facilities. At the same time, Dingguang Temple has also become a religious tourism holy place of Lingnan "a must" temple.
