Let me tell you four conditions to be a monk:
First, all monasteries can become monks as long as they have monks, and there are more in the south. However, you should learn to distinguish which temples are orthodox and which temples are controlled by businessmen.
Second, the conditions for becoming a monk, which I answered before, are posted for your reference:
The first condition: it must be voluntary.
The second condition: the family members must agree and sign the consent form. According to the age of the person who wants to become a monk, it is required to provide the consent of parents or guardians, or to hold the written materials of parents' consent as the first choice for becoming a monk.
The third condition: complete licenses. ID card, education certificate, household registration certificate (issued by the police station), physical examination certificate, certificate of no marriage relationship and commitment letter (divorce certificate is required for married people), and certificate of no criminal record issued by the local police station are required. These include:
(a), the medical certificate includes:
1, complete limbs (short hands and feet, twisted hands and feet, paralysis, polio patients, leprosy patients, crooked heads, etc.). People who can't walk in a straight line can't be ordained to become monks.
2, five senses (blind, cross-eyed, deaf, deaf, crooked mouth, rabbit mouth or missing mouth, dumb, etc. Can't be ordained to become a monk).
3, not infected with serious infectious diseases (such as AIDS, various skin diseases, etc.). ), you can't ban becoming a monk. But this is not the case with colds.
4. Sound mind (refers to not suffering from any mental illness, such as neurasthenia, schizophrenia, epilepsy and other diseases that will make you lose your mind and lose your mind, otherwise you can't be banned from becoming a monk).
5, mentally sound, normal (bisexual, gay, etc. , can't ban becoming a monk).
(2) The certificate of no criminal record issued by the police station includes:
1. Those who have not violated national laws (criminal) or involved in legal proceedings, and those who are wanted by the police, are not allowed to become monks.
2. People who have no debt problems (such as those who are in debt due to bankruptcy or business failure, may not be prohibited from becoming monks).
If you commit a crime, but have been released from prison, you must tell the truth, and you can be forbidden to become a monk.
(3) Certificate of academic qualifications:
In fact, academic qualifications are generally not required, but considering the needs of spreading Buddhism and benefiting students, the education level is too low to understand Buddhist scriptures and read them. Therefore, many temples now require monks to have at least junior high school education, which varies from place to place and from temple to temple.
The fourth condition: age requirement, not less than 7 years old and not more than 60 years old (this can also be relaxed. The reason for limiting the age is that I am too young to take care of myself. In 2009, I was in Xi 'an with Master Xian Zhi, and a father came to see Master with a child who was about to become a monk. He said that the doll was over 7 years old and didn't eat meat when she was born, so she wanted to become a monk. Master asked him why he wanted to become a monk at such a young age. The child actually replied: "Master, this world is too bitter! Please let me become a monk and seek liberation! " That year, although I had confidence in Buddhism, I was moved by what the children said and felt ashamed. In addition, if it is abandoned, it is another matter. I once met a bhikshuni in Ningde 20 13, and found a baby with limp limbs at the entrance of the temple. Probably abandoned by cruel parents. Now I'm raising it directly. I'm six years old Because I was raised in a temple, I am a vegetarian, which is equivalent to becoming a monk before 1 year old. In addition, being too old also takes into account the problems in life, but there is no difference between them on the way to becoming a Buddha. Even those who exceed this standard only ask the abbot or kneel in front of the mountain for a few days, but don't say I taught them. This level is the easiest.
