Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1949. Its predecessor was the Second Branch of Northwest People's Academy of Fine Arts. /kloc-0 moved from Linfen, Shanxi Province to Chang 'an County, xi City in July, 1949, and was renamed the Art College of Northwest Military and Political University. After the Northwest Art Institute, Northwest Art Institute and other stages, it was officially named Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts on May 1960.
Since its establishment, Xi Academy of Fine Arts has recruited talents, gathered famous teachers, based on the excellent Yan 'an spirit and rich historical and cultural traditions, inherited the red gene, formed a unique concept of art education, cultivated a large number of outstanding artistic talents for the construction and development of the country, and created many works with far-reaching influence in the contemporary art history of China, which made important contributions to the prosperity of socialist art and produced a good social reputation and influence.
The college currently has three campuses: Yanta Campus, Chang 'an Campus and Lintong Campus. The total area is about 800,000 square meters (including 6.5438+0.5 million square meters in Yanta Campus, 600,000 square meters in Chang 'an Campus and 40,000 square meters in Lintong Campus).
The college currently has 22 undergraduate majors, including Chinese Painting College, Calligraphy Department, Oil Painting Department, Printmaking Department, Sculpture Department, Arts and Crafts Department, Design Art College, Architectural Environment Art Department, Clothing Department, Cross-media Art Department, Art History Department, Film and Television Animation Department, Marxism College, Public Basic Education Department, Plastic Arts Department, Art Education College and Special Education Art College.
There are continuing education colleges, affiliated secondary art schools and Shaanxi primary school teacher training centers. There are key research bases of philosophy and social sciences in Shaanxi Province-China Traditional Art and Western Art Research Center, National Major Theme Art Creation and Research Center, Shaanxi 201/KLOC-0 Collaborative Innovation Center, Shaanxi Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching Research Demonstration Center, Shaanxi Public Science Quality Development Research Institute, Shaanxi Social Science Popularization Base, and Shaanxi University Language Excellence.
