I think one-on-one teachers are either too expensive or cheap teachers are not very good. Personally, I think it's better to go to an amateur school, at least more formal. I went to an amateur school in Xuhui District, but not the amateur department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. My friends said that it was ok.
