Experience sharing: Successful completion of all ACCA courses is helpful for job hunting.
There are quite a few China students studying in the UK, and some students choose chartered accountants, namely ACCA courses. After graduating from the UK with a master's degree in finance, Wang Chun successfully completed all the courses of ACCA, and found a counterpart job in a large international hotel chain after the internship. Wang Chun's experience is worth sharing. Zichuan: You majored in auditing at China University. After graduation, you are also engaged in related work. Why did you choose to go to England for further study?

Wang Chun, UK: After I graduated from university, I did two years of auditing work and contacted many companies from all walks of life, which made me feel that the accounting system in China is not perfect and there are many places to be improved. The accounting system in Britain is relatively mature, so I want to go here for further study.

Zichuan: Do you think it's rewarding to study for a master's degree in the UK?

Wang Chun: I studied for a master's degree in finance and management at Kiel University. This major is divided into two parts: finance and management, which are involved in all aspects. Although the one-year course can't be said to be particularly in-depth, there are still many gains and the knowledge system has been improved.

Zichuan: Then how did you find a job after graduation?

Wang Chun: When I graduated, there was no graduate PSW visa system, so I submitted some resumes and participated in several interviews. Later, a company in China recruited me as a purchasing and accounting assistant, and successfully obtained a two-year work visa.

Zichuan: Is this job hard to find?

Wang Chun: It's really not easy, mainly because of the visa problem. After working in this company for two years, the visa policy was adjusted again. My company must apply for a license before it can renew my employees for three years outside the EU. At that time, I thought it would be more useful to study professional accounting certificate, so I chose to study chartered accountant in Kaplan Finance, that is, ACCA certificate. In this way, it became a student visa.

ACCA 1 * * has 14 courses. Because my undergraduate and master's degree are both accounting majors, the school agreed to exempt me from the first five courses at that time. At that time, I chose Kaplan because I could take part in the internship program after studying all subjects, which was very helpful for me to find a job in the future.

Then I followed the plan step by step. Finally, when there are five courses left, three are compulsory courses, and you can choose two of the three or four courses. I chose auditing and management. I took the exam quickly, and I passed all nine courses in a year and a half. Some people think it is difficult to take the exam after ACCA. I think the main reason is that China people attach more importance to it? Count? And pay more attention here? Write? Many things need to be written in English.

Zichuan: When you pass all the courses of ACCA and get the certificate, it will be much easier to find a job?

Wang Chun: That's right. Naturally, after I passed all the courses, I joined the internship program. At that time, when I handed in my resume, several companies found me and chose the international hotel chain group where I work now.

Zichuan: Is a six-month internship like a management trainee?

Wang Chun: Yes. At that time, I had contact with all departments of the hotel and made rapid progress in all aspects.

Zichuan: Why are you interested in the hotel industry?

Wang Chun: ACCA trains qualified managers who can engage in various industries. London is not only one of the global financial centers, but also one of the tourist centers, and the tourism industry is very developed. In view of this, this international hotel chain group is relatively large in scale and among the best in the world. I think I can learn a lot here, so I choose to come here.

Zichuan: Is it difficult to be recruited to work in this hotel group?

Wang Chun: Not bad. Because I was indirectly trained in interview skills in my previous internship, I successfully passed the interview. At that time, I was interviewed by the head of the personnel department and the chief financial officer of the group, and finally passed the interview of the general manager.

Zichuan: After six months' internship, have you found a position that suits you?

Wang Chun: Yes. The internship is mainly in a hotel, and later it is a revenue clerk. After the internship, the financial director of the group headquarters saw my experience and my ability during the internship; At the same time, there happened to be a position in the commission management department that was very suitable for me, so I went for an interview and was later hired by the chief financial officer. Of course, ACCA qualification is very helpful for me to find a job.

Zichuan: You are now a senior commission controller. Have you gone to by going up one flight of stairs?

Wang Chun: Yes, I'm working in the group headquarters now, and I'm responsible for managing the commission of all 14 hotels. My previous income management was the basis of commission management, which is equivalent to a higher level now.

Zichuan: Quite a number of China students come to Britain to study accounting or ACCA courses. What advice do you have for them?

Wang Chun: First of all, you need to have a goal. You can't concentrate on your studies when you are studying. You should think about your future after graduation, whether to go back to China for development or stay in the UK. If you want to stay and develop in Britain, you must plan well. For example, I chose an organization that provided internship at that time, which was very helpful for me to find a job in the future.

Therefore, studying here requires not only short-term plans, but also long-term plans. At the same time, we should consider the issue of visas. If you think you can't stay in Britain after graduation, you'd better look for internship opportunities within six months before graduation. In this way, you will have some work experience, which is better than going back to China to find a job after graduation without any overseas work experience.
