Chengdu Institute of Meteorology was founded by Sichuan Meteorological Bureau and China Meteorological Bureau, and it is a provincial-level undergraduate college focusing on the development of Sichuan Province. In 2020, a batch of undergraduate admission scores will be 606 points.

Chengdu Meteorological College was founded in 195 1, transformed into Chengdu Meteorological School in central weather bureau in 1956, and upgraded to Chengdu Meteorological College in 1978. In 2000, the school was transferred from China Meteorological Bureau to Sichuan Province and renamed as Chengdu University of Information Science and Technology.
