The translation test is divided into two parts, English-Chinese translation and Chinese-English translation, with 2-3 articles in each part.
The initial test, senior high school entrance examination and advanced examination take 3, 4 and 6 hours respectively, and the length of translated articles varies at all levels. The higher the level, the longer and more difficult it is to translate the article.
Interpretation takes the form of listening to the recording and doing translation.
Candidates wear headphones in the language lab. After hearing a speech in English or Chinese, they translated it into Chinese or English respectively and recorded it on tape.
The length of the speech varies from 250 words/word at the primary level to 600-800 words/word at the advanced level, and there will be some pauses in the speech, with different pause times.
For beginners, it takes a few seconds or even tens of seconds to stop for candidates to translate, and the time left for candidates to translate is about 1- 1.5 times of the recording time.
At the intermediate level, from 1 minute to 1 minute, you will stop to translate for the candidates, and the time left for the candidates to translate is about 1- 1.5 times of the recording time.

The national foreign language translation certificate examination is independent. You can get the corresponding certificate by passing any certificate examination. Interpretation and translation adopt a four-level scoring system of A, B, C and D, and all parts of interpretation are above B (including B). In addition to advanced interpretation, you can get a certificate by passing the recording examination, and candidates who pass the recording examination of advanced interpretation must attend an interview to get a certificate. Only when all parts of the translation test paper are above B (including B) can they be qualified. If you pass the exam, you can get a certificate.
