In July 2020, the project office of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training was established in Northwest A&F University.

In order to actively explore the strategic path of future agricultural development, innovate the talent training mode, optimize the layout of agricultural disciplines and comprehensively improve the level of running schools, with the strong support of the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province, Northwest A&F University built the Future Agricultural College in Yangling District, Shaanxi Province.

On September 19, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Institute of Future Agriculture of Northwest A&F University was held in Yangling Demonstration Zone.

The Institute of Future Agriculture (IFA) is an innovative special zone established by Northwest A&F University. It aims to explore the strategic path of future agricultural development, innovate the talent training mode, optimize the layout of agricultural disciplines, seize the commanding heights of future agricultural science and technology competition, and support and lead the future agricultural development in China.

Established by Northwest A&F University and Yangling Demonstration Zone, the Institute aims to conform to the characteristics and development trend of future agricultural integration of three industries, diversified subjects, green development, healthy guidance, intelligent equipment and global configuration, further explore the strategic path of future agricultural development, optimize the layout of agricultural disciplines and specialties, innovate the talent training mode, and better serve the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

What is a research institute?
