According to the decision of the State Council and the provincial government to vigorously promote the reform and development of vocational education, Suzhou Construction Communications Higher Vocational and Technical School was formed by merging five schools in April 2004, and officially settled in Suzhou International Education Park in September 2004, in accordance with the requirements of the Measures for Setting Higher Vocational and Technical Schools in Jiangsu Province (Five-year System) and the General Plan for Adjusting the Layout and Structure of Vocational Education in Suzhou.
In February, 2005, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education approved the establishment of a higher vocational and technical school, named Suzhou Construction Transportation Branch of Jiangsu United Vocational and Technical College, with the aim of organizing a five-year compulsory higher vocational major and cultivating high-quality workers and skilled talents in construction, transportation and commerce.
The school has two campuses, International Education Park and Yinshan Lake, covering an area of 465 mu, with a building area of1.4700 square meters. There are three professional training centers in architecture, transportation and commerce, with a building area of more than 30,000 square meters, and the existing professional teaching experimental training equipment is 1.054 million yuan.
School buildings, automobile training bases and rail transit training bases are all provincial high-level demonstration training base construction projects and provincial skill teaching and research bases. The school has 2 provincial specialties, 3 brand specialties, 3 modern specialty groups, 2 high-level demonstration and training bases and 3 skill teaching and research bases. Six "1+X" certificate system pilots were approved; There are 2 national teaching achievement awards and 4 provincial teaching achievement awards.
