The International Comprehensive Curriculum of Shiwai Middle School-Middle School Year Project (IIC-MYP) is a project to localize the IBMYP curriculum, taking into account the depth of national curriculum and the breadth of international curriculum, and paying attention to the balance of curriculum and the implementation of learning methods. Implement hierarchical rotation mode, including cooperative teaching between Chinese and foreign teachers, hierarchical teaching between Chinese and foreign teachers, bilingual teaching between Chinese and foreign teachers, etc. The students of this course can reach the graduation level of ninth grade students in China when they complete the ninth grade course. In addition, the course also provides students with a variety of expanding courses and a series of activities to apply what they have learned, which lays a solid foundation for cultivating students to become lifelong learners and social practitioners.

The International Comprehensive Curriculum-Diploma Project (IIC-DP) of Shiwai Middle School is a project to localize the IBDP curriculum, which covers the highly academic and international nature of DP curriculum and the humanistic essence of China curriculum. DP's six-group balanced curriculum system aims to cultivate all-round development generalists on the international stage in the future, while China Humanities Course (the seventh discipline group) aims to consolidate the China cultural accumulation of international course students. In the course mode, according to the difference between high level and ordinary level, stratified classes are implemented. This course is taught in English with the exception of mother tongue (Chinese) literature course, core course epistemology and the seventh subject group. So far, the high school project of this course has achieved fruitful teaching and further research results. The average score of 20 13 students reached 35 points, which was 5-6 points higher than the global average. 32% of students are admitted to the top 30 universities in the United States (or other countries at the same level). 77% of students are admitted to the top 60 universities in the United States (or other countries at the same level).

International Diploma Program (IBDP) courses and teachers

(1) The International Diploma Course (IBDP) of Shiwai Middle School is divided into IBDP courses (classes are subdivided into excellent courses and full-text courses) and American courses. According to students' academic situation and study abroad needs, they are included in two curriculum systems respectively. The former can get the IBDP diploma after passing the IB full-text exam, and can also get the high school graduation certificate issued by Shiwai Middle School; The latter can obtain the IBDP certificate after passing the IB examination, and can also obtain the high school graduation certificate issued by Shiwai Middle School. If students choose the American double diploma program, the credits they have completed meet the requirements, and they can also get the graduation certificate of Brandon Hall High School in the United States.

The curriculum of IBDP in Shiwai Middle School is as follows: Group 1: Chinese A (compulsory); Group 2: English B (required), elementary German, elementary Japanese and elementary French (choose one); The third group: economy and history (choose one); The fourth group: physics, chemistry and biology (choose one); Group 5: Mathematics (compulsory); Group 6: Visual arts. There are also core courses TOK (knowledge theory) and CAS (creation, action and service). Students choose 1 course and ***6 courses from the above groups. If you don't choose visual arts, you can choose another course from the second, third and fourth groups. All courses are taught in English except Chinese, TOK and a second foreign language.

The American orientation class in Shiwai Middle School is only for students whose study direction is the United States. Some of them adopt the IBDP curriculum, while others adopt the national curriculum of China senior high school. IBDP courses include: Chinese A, English B, mathematics, plus a subject course selected according to regulations; China senior high school national curriculum is: history, geography, information technology, biology, etc. At the same time, Shiwai Middle School also cooperates with Inlingua College in Washington, USA authorized by CEA Language Center to strengthen TOEFL and SAT study and improve students' language level.

(2) Over the past five years, Shiwai Middle School has developed and cultivated a variety of outreach courses and CAS activities, such as Model United Nations activities, Roots and Shoots activities, Smile Action, etc. The students of Shiwai Middle School Model Association have frequently won awards at the International Middle School Model Association Conference of the top universities in the United States. The whole school student union headed by IBDP students has also become an innovative and active student organization, successfully held a large-scale charity performance for senior high school students in Shanghai, and actively participated in the management of international campuses, becoming a new force among students. The English debating team composed of IBDP students has won many awards in Shanghai and national English competitions. Through the above activities, the organization, coordination and leadership abilities of IBDP students have been fully exercised and strengthened.

(3) At present, there are more than 60 teachers in the IBDP project of Shiwai Middle School, including 16 foreign teachers from the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Two-thirds of the teachers have completed the whole process of IB teaching, including 9 IB examiners. All IB teachers have received professional training in the Asia-Pacific region and have a deep understanding of the teaching and evaluation of IB courses. Because of the high teacher-student ratio, which is about 1: 6, every student is highly cared for by teachers.
