The difference between TOEFL and IELTS
TOEFL, designed by ETS Testing Center in the United States, is designed for students from non-English speaking countries to test their language proficiency before studying in the United States. In contrast, IELTS focuses more on the application for studying in Commonwealth countries.
GMAT test strategy
If you apply for a major in finance, you need to prepare for the GMAT. It is suggested to conquer GMAT before taking TOEFL. GMAT can be taken twice a year, so you must be fully prepared and try to pass it once.
Time planning of TOEFL test
In contrast, there are more opportunities for TOEFL exams. There are exams every month, but you need to register 6-8 months in advance so as not to miss the exam opportunities (some examination rooms are temporarily closed). It is suggested to take the GMAT test time as the benchmark and start preparing for the relevant exams one year in advance. If you plan to enter school next autumn, it is recommended to take the TOEFL in May. Results are usually announced within 15 days.
Materials needed to apply for a visa
F 1 Student visa (graduate visa) usually requires TOEFL and GMAT scores. If not, the school may need to issue relevant certificates that you will take language courses in the United States and then take the TOEFL test.
