What foreign language schools are there?
A foreign language school is a primary and secondary school characterized by foreign language teaching. The earliest foreign language school in China was established at the proposal of Premier Zhou Enlai and Foreign Minister Chen Yi. After the reform and opening up, the number of foreign language schools in various places has increased greatly, and the nature of running foreign language schools is also different, including public schools, private schools, international high schools and so on.

List of schools

The list of foreign language schools founded around 1963 is as follows (arranged from north to south by year and geographical location):

Established in 1959:

Beijing Foreign Studies University affiliated Beijing Foreign Studies School.

Established in 1960:

The former Beijing Foreign Languages School, founded in 1960 (not to be confused with the current Beijing Foreign Languages School of the same name), has been merged with other schools after many changes to form the Foreign Languages College of Capital Normal University.

Established in 1963:

Changchun Foreign Language School, Xi Foreign Language School (affiliated to Xi International Studies University), Nanjing Foreign Language School, Shanghai Foreign Language School (affiliated to Shanghai International Studies University), Chongqing Foreign Language School (affiliated to Sichuan International Studies University) and Guangzhou Foreign Language School.

Established in 1964:

Tianjin Foreign Language School (Foreign Language School affiliated to Tianjin Foreign Studies University), Wuhan Foreign Language School and Hangzhou Foreign Language School.
