Introduction of Zhangjiagang Cultural Center
As the main front and window of public cultural services in the city, Zhangjiagang Cultural Center is an important place to spread culture and art, carry out cultural exchanges and inherit humanistic spirit. The Cultural Center consists of eight functional buildings: Science and Technology Museum, Art Gallery, City Exhibition Hall, Library, Cultural Center, Archives, Grand Theatre and Service Area. The center covers an area of about 230 mu with a building area of 75,000 square meters. There are 16 cultural lampposts in the Cultural Square, showing 12 major historical events in Zhangjiagang, and 8 poems written by cultural celebrities praising Zhangjiagang. Zhangjiagang Cultural Center is one of the major cultural practice projects in Zhangjiagang during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. The total investment of the project is more than 700 million yuan. The first phase of the project covers an area of 230 mu with a total construction area of 75,000 square meters. It was fully completed on September 26th, 2009. City Cultural Center consists of nine functional buildings: library, cultural center, archives, science and technology museum, art museum, city exhibition hall, comprehensive exhibition hall, Wen Hui Square and Grand Theatre.
