Brief introduction of Anhui Normal University
Anhui Normal University, referred to as Normal University for short, is located in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, and is the first comprehensive university in the history of higher education in Anhui Province.
The school is a university jointly established by the Anhui Provincial People's Government, the people of China and the Ministry of Education of China, and it is a national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest". Anhui Provincial Higher Education Revitalization Plan "High-level University Construction Project with Local Characteristics" and "High-level University Award Fund Project" supported universities in the first batch, and Anhui Provincial Summit Discipline Construction Plan focused on supporting universities, and was successively selected into the "Excellent Teacher Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education, the scholarship receiving institution of China Municipal Government for overseas students in China, and the primary and secondary schools of the Ministry of Education.

The school's predecessor was the provincial Anhui University 1928 founded in Anqing. 1946 was renamed as National Anhui University, and 1949 moved to Wuhu. After that, it went through several stages of running schools, such as Anhui Normal University, Hefei Normal University, Southern Anhui University and Anhui University of Workers and Peasants. 1972, approved by the State Council, was officially named Anhui Normal University. In 2005, Wuhu Normal University was merged into Anhui Normal University.
