Wallflower type
The most ordinary people.
As far as minor language majors are concerned, no matter why they go to Thailand to study (the adjustment of college entrance examination/foreign languages with southern regional characteristics/enthusiasm for ASEAN minor languages/yearning for Southeast Asian customs/part-time courses for hotel management or tourism majors/inability to afford the high fees in Europe and America), few people really love this long-known and unfamiliar country (another point is that they fell in love with this country after coming). I always sit in the middle seat in class (I won't sit in the back row, but I don't want to be too distracted to skip class because I sit in the front row). Thailand's holidays, big and small, plan to travel well and get to know the country. It takes a little thought to practice, but it's not too hard to find. The GPA is basically stable above 3, but you can't get a scholarship or a teacher's eye. I can get an offer from a Thai company before graduation, but I feel that it is not bad to return to China. So people who stay in Thailand and return to China are half and half, and gradually have different pursuits and paths.
study hard
I will grab the front seat in class.
In fact, the number of minority language majors is limited, and the classroom is always full of dissatisfaction. And few other majors come to attend classes. But this kind of students always grab the seat closest to the podium. You don't have to call them, but you always review in the dormitory/library/classroom. If you forget to bring your textbook in class, you can borrow a notebook from them. There must be previewed notes on it, which can replace textbooks (don't ask me how I know). Strangely, although they are likely to get scholarships, their grades are not necessarily particularly top-notch.
Free flow type
Leaving messages to such students on social sns can always get a quick reply, and it is also the type that people can be found without calling. Always well informed, better than the monitor and some teachers.
My academic performance is very good. Compared with my former classmates, although I sit in the front row, my seats are basically carefully selected. For example, I will sit by the window and the door in the nap class, and sit far away from the doors and windows near noon (tropical sunshine). Of course, they also work hard, finish their homework on time and get high marks in the exam. But beyond that, social life is rich and colorful. Although you can contact them at any time, it is difficult to put you on their agenda, because they may follow the professor back to their hometown to attend the niece's wedding (the teacher took me to visit the Thai wedding, and I was in xx House, and I was experiencing special customs and culture when I came back).
Thai universities require students to have internship experience to graduate. The internship performance is reported by the internship unit, and the results are included in the credits. This kind of students basically don't have to worry about finding an internship unit or a teacher? What's the point of writing about Dili? Provide help. There is a grading standard for the final grade of Thai universities, and the translation into Chinese is the impression score. In short, it is similar to the teacher's evaluation of students' overall etiquette, speech and mental outlook. I think this is why relaxed students sometimes get higher final grades than hard-working students.
Core network type
Due to special geographical and historical reasons, Thailand is a country where overseas Chinese are well integrated into the local society and have considerable influence. There are not many examples. Just think of a few Thai celebrities, most of whom are Chinese. Today, the Chakri royal family is of China descent.
In today's Chinese community in Thailand, the older generation are basically Chaoshan immigrants from Fujian and Guangdong, and now there is a complete list of political and business dignitaries. Take Chaoshan as an example. All the students I know who were born in Chaoshan have some overseas relatives. The new immigrants are mainly entrepreneurs from developed areas such as Shanghai. Most of them still have China nationality, but they have probably lived in Thailand for many years. Although their descendants also hold China passports, they cannot speak Chinese fluently (Shanghainese is spoken at home). I was an intern in a company, but I was attracted by the boss's wife. Later, I went to be a Chinese tutor for my children and a personal assistant for my boss's wife, instead of going to work in the company. At the end of the internship period, the internship report issued by the company was actually given to A, which made people feel guilty. Judging from the answers from the North American study abroad circle next door, I feel that the core circle of North American students should be mainly Red N generation, supplemented by children whose economic strength must occupy a background.
As far as I can see, the similar core circle of Thai students is mainly the children of businessmen with overseas relations, and some have started their own businesses (such as real estate and precious metal trading) under the training of overseas relatives since they studied abroad. Thailand is a country with a royal family, so it is not enough to work hard or have money. There is also a concept similar to the old English money, and the expansion of contacts needs to be a stepping stone. Many influential Chinese in Thailand start their own businesses, so the upper social circle, or hi-so society in Thai context, is not as contemptuous of businessmen as a royal country like Britain. Of course, it would be better if it had a little connection with the blood of the old nobles in Thailand (in fact, there are many marriage stories like looking through Thai history).
If this type of students are serious and willing to study hard, then the international students from ordinary working-class families are completely different from them. Some people work hard and keep a low profile nice, and some people can't even speak Thai in the restaurant after reading it. They just travel to the land of smiles for a few years.
Types of social flowers
They ran after the classmates with core connections in front. I don't know whether this type of international students is widespread in overseas study circles, but it seems that someone has said a similar answer to the question of studying in North America next door. Most of them are girls, but the number of boys who become like this is also rising when they study. The phone is often disconnected because they often use several mobile phones.
Through the social gatherings organized by my former classmates, I got the contact information of some famous people in the Chinese community in Thailand, and then I often went out to play with them in order to "connect feelings".
Nightclub regulars. Of course, I'm not saying that it's not good to go to nightclubs (although I haven't been there because I love to sleep). Hooking up with a girl in Kai Zi with ambiguous eyes, risking answering the wrong question and having a drink or something is probably a pastime to relax and entertain. Most regular nightclubs in Thailand (or nightclubs that my classmates often went to at that time) were actually very well controlled. Dress codes are available. You need to check your ID card to see your age. Business hours are from 8 pm to 2 am, not all night. Some focus on resident bands, some focus on DJs, and some are purely for selling drinks, mainly for students/office workers who have to go to class/work the next day at the age of 20+. (Thanks to classmate A for providing information)
Take Bangkok as an example. Most of these nightclubs are located in Rachada block, RCA and massage bath industry are developed (because I haven't been there, I can't remember which letters are spelled in Thai). Well, it seems to be near the Embassy of China in Thailand. Btw British Embassy in Thailand is located in Nana red light district, and there are many pornographic bars.
Earn pocket money hard
I don't know why I'm here
Personally, I think every country that studies abroad has such international students. At school, the school advised a boy not to study, not to socialize, not to have a background, and not to look for a job. Play games, travel and play in the dormitory every day. In addition to failing every course in the oral exam, his oral English can be improved because he has a Thai girlfriend and he used to be a master who didn't even open his mouth to cook in the canteen.
If you spend more than your budget, borrow it until everyone refuses to lend him any more money. In fact, the boy's family conditions are acceptable, but he sends a large sum of money to Cary regularly, leaving him alone. Every time he receives money, he goes hungry. Then I dropped out of school and rented a house nearby. It is said that it is still like this every day. After dropping out of school, the student visa will naturally expire, so he paid the intermediary training institution to renew the student visa. Later, I stayed until the normal graduation time. I don't know what this man is doing here. For more information, please pay attention to official website, the overseas study training base of Yunnan University International College.
