First, understand three objective data:
The objective data of 1: 700+ (including 700) means to beat at least 89% of the candidates in the world, that is to say, only 1 1 people who take the exam get more than 700 points, which is a "minority";
Objective Data 2: Average score of students in China: Even if it is higher than the global average, the average score of students in China over the years does not exceed 600.
The objective data is 3: 6 1% of the applicants feel that the GMAT exam is the most painful part in the whole application process.
GMAT is a test of logical ability in nature, and because it is an all-English test, it is inevitable to examine the basic English skills, so whether you can easily get 700+ depends on your strong logical thinking ability and whether your basic English skills are ok.
● Logical thinking ability
This is a weak link for China candidates, because there is no corresponding course in our education, and most people in China have no clear and conscious understanding of "logic", and our study habits even contradict it.
Logic pays attention to the deduction process of one event after another, and pays attention to gradual and reasonable arrangement.
Logical embodiment of GMAT
Take sentence change (hereinafter referred to as SC) as an example to make a simple explanation. In the English education we have received since childhood, there are only absolute grammatical errors, while in SC, there are almost no absolute grammatical errors. We pay more attention to whether the logical relationship arrangement of each part of the sentence is efficient and reasonable. In actual combat, there is no objective error in the remaining 2-3 sentences after a round of exclusion, only from the "logical level".
Learning habits reflect thinking habits, which greatly affects the review efficiency.
China students are very good at learning methods such as "rote memorization" and "sea tactics". They are used to passively absorbing "rote learning", and their independent thinking ability is weak, and their tracing ability is weak. The above learning methods and habits are very inefficient and basically ineffective in GMAT. GMAT requires active thinking, "knowing what it is, knowing why it is", and examines application ability rather than memory. That is to say, if you want to conquer GMAT quickly, your body and mind can't be lazy! You need to subvert your previous study habits!
Learning methods such as "rote learning" and "sea tactics" are really effective in some exams, but they really don't work in GMAT. )
Basic English skills
Objectively speaking, GMAT requires less basic English skills than TOEFL: TOEFL requires more words than GMAT not only in quantity, but also in quality: listening, speaking, reading and writing are indispensable, while GMAT requires only knowledge and familiarity for most words.
