How do young and middle-aged cadres view personal development
Speech at the closing ceremony of the training class for young and middle-aged leading cadres: Hello everyone! Speaking at the moment, I am as excited as everyone else! After three months' study and life, I got to know 54 outstanding young and middle-aged leading cadres from five provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and five ethnic groups in China. During my years together, I saw the future from you, and at the same time I learned a lot from you, enriching myself, just as the ancients said: teaching is learning from each other. When we are about to part, I want to say a few words from the heart as our brothers. One is about yesterday's graduation defense (omitted), and the other is how to treat your personal development. You entered the party school as an excellent reserve cadre through organizing an inspection tour. In the eyes of others, you are a promising young and middle-aged cadre and a social elite. Then I want to ask you, what do you think of yourself? What is your understanding of elite? If measured by elite standards, are we qualified? A few years ago, when I had a discussion with students in Tsinghua, I warned them that if they failed to get into Tsinghua, they would become social elites. There are at least two criteria for social elites: first, they have development potential (meaning that all kinds of knowledge and abilities need to be molded and improved), and second, they have a sense of social responsibility to serve the people. As a student admitted to Tsinghua, on the whole, there is always potential for development, but not everyone has the sense of social responsibility to serve the people. Because I find that college students nowadays tend to think more about the improvement of their personal abilities and how to find a good job and earn more money in the future. I'm not saying that this consideration is wrong. In today's highly competitive material age, these ideas are human nature. But what I want to emphasize to you is that, as an elite advanced element, what distinguishes him is that he not only considers personal development, but also thinks from the perspective of social development, combining the realization of personal value with the needs of the whole country and nation as far as possible, and combining personal development with the overall progress of society. "Worry about the world first, and enjoy the world later!" This is true for college students. For those who have become young leading cadres in some positions, I would like to put forward such hopes and requirements: an excellent young leading cadre must be able to unify personal development with social progress. Why did the on-site teaching in Yan 'an deeply touch us? In fact, everyone has found the answer in the analysis and discussion of party spirit. It is the noble sense of social responsibility of our ancestors, their sacrifice for the liberation of the Chinese nation, and their spirit of closely linking their destiny with the liberation of the nation. They are the elite of our nation! Is our role model! Because the spirit they embody is combined with the destiny of the motherland and the people, it is this combination that finally produces the glorious purpose of our party: serving the people wholeheartedly! No matter how capable a person is, if he doesn't have the concept of serving the country and the people and the sense of social responsibility, he can't achieve great things or even do bad things. Therefore, our personal development and the realization of personal value must not be separated from the needs of the country and the people, nor from the progress track of the overall development of society. I hope everyone will treat and demand themselves with such standards. Several students in our class have just been promoted to a higher level of leadership positions. There is no doubt that in the next few years, more students will have changes in their work, which is the need of career development and something to congratulate. However, what I want to point out here is another situation. As young and middle-aged cadres, they are faced with both subjective factors and objective conditions for personal development. Maybe you are excellent, maybe you do better than others, but you haven't been promoted for a long time. How to deal with it? I'd like to offer you the eight-character mantra: "Man proposes, God disposes". Let's take a good look at this sentence: if you don't work hard, you will never have a chance, but if you work hard, the opportunity may not necessarily fall on your head. That is the reality. If we really understand the meaning of these eight words, we will not worry about such problems, we will be promoted in our perception, and we will also be happy and happy in our work and life! As a teacher, I value your future contribution to society more than your position. Elite is not equal to being an official. People who are humble and dare not forget their country's worries are also elites needed by social countries! Personal value can also be realized! I sincerely wish you to advance with our motherland and people in the future!
