The 48-year history of Haikou Technical Secondary School in Hainan Agricultural Reclamation has six remarkable characteristics. What talents are needed in reclamation areas and society, what specialties are offered and what talents are trained. Only in recent years, the school has set up new majors such as marketing, tour guide, gardening, secretarial and file management, auditing, computer and application, efficient agriculture, e-commerce, electrician and air conditioning and refrigeration, electronic technology, tourism and hotel management. At the same time, maintain the relative stability and characteristics of the major, and consolidate and improve the major majors. The fourth is to deepen the teaching reform based on students' future employment, ability and demand. In terms of teaching content, we should take the mastery and sufficiency of basic knowledge as the yardstick, and the mastery and application of professional knowledge as the principle, constantly broaden the scope of knowledge and expertise, so that students can get twice the result with half the effort and do a good job in practical teaching and basic skills training in the teaching process. According to the characteristics of social demand for talents' ability orientation in recent years, calligraphy, eloquence, orthography, counting money, abacus, computer, etiquette and social interaction, Putonghua, aesthetic education, physical education, professional practice and other 12 skills are taken as students' basic skills for guidance, training and assessment, so as to promote the improvement of students' comprehensive quality.
