Over the past 30 years, with the joint efforts of all previous councils and members, the institute has closely cooperated with the international economic situation, closely focused on the central task of China's foreign trade and economic cooperation, studied the theory, policies, situation, tasks and development strategies of international economic cooperation, carried out academic and experience exchanges, and carried out forward-looking and timely business activities many times. He has held seminars, symposiums, paper review meetings, academic annual meetings and essay awards for more than 70 times. Adhere to the combination of theoretical research and international economic cooperation practice, and carry out in-depth special research on major topics. On the basis of academic research results, we organized relevant experts and scholars to write books, and successively compiled and published teaching reference materials such as Principles of International Economic Cooperation, Introduction to International Economic Cooperation, Theory and Practice of International Economic Cooperation, Teaching Series of International Engineering Management (***20 volumes) and International Economic Cooperation Entering 2 1 century. In particular, in order to speed up the implementation of the "going out" strategy put forward by the central authorities and further develop China's foreign economic cooperation, we have set up special topics on some major topics around how to implement the "going out" strategy, organized relevant experts to conduct in-depth research, and achieved certain research results. On this basis, the author edited and published "Research on the Implementation Strategy of China's International Economic Cooperation" and "Research on the Implementation Strategy of Combining Bringing in and Going Out".

Learn to actively serve member units, enterprises, academic research institutions, universities and other departments; Assist member units to plan business strategic plans and provide relevant information consulting services; Organize member units to study abroad, carry out domestic research, and promote member units to strengthen international economic cooperation and liaison. Over the past 30 years, the Society has held more than 30 training courses and seminars, and trained more than 1000 people at home and abroad. Including WTO knowledge and tax reform training courses, foreign aid preferential loan business training courses, preferential loan seminars for African countries, preferential loan management seminars for developing countries, "going global" business and policies, etc., have played a positive role in cultivating high-level compound foreign trade and economic talents at home and abroad, and have been fully affirmed by the leaders of the Ministry of Commerce and generally praised by the students. At the same time, the institute also actively carries out information consultation and intermediary services, and builds a platform for exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad for member units and all sectors of society, such as editing and publishing the monthly magazine Research on International Economic Cooperation and establishing the website of the institute. Regularly and irregularly publish various publications, materials, selected papers, regional and national investment and trade environment, timely disseminate relevant theories and policies of international economic cooperation and the latest information and trends of foreign economic cooperation, and provide a large number of practical information, latest research results and beneficial experience for member units and enterprises to broaden their horizons, formulate development strategies, improve management and explore the international market, which has been welcomed and praised by relevant units. The Institute's influence and role in China's foreign economic cooperation is expanding day by day.
