First understand the performance of the ps version itself.
At present, due to the slight differences in the process of producing PS plates by various screen printing manufacturers, the products also have their own characteristics. The PS plate containing more than 4g (thick) oxide layer per square meter and sealed with high-temperature plate base has good alkali resistance. However, the PS version containing less than 4g (thin) oxide layer per square meter has only a hydrophilic layer without high-temperature hole sealing or oxidation, and its alkali resistance is weak. In addition, the performance of the same PS version is different because of the different production dates. Operators must know the performance of PS plate, so as to correctly select whether the main developer is strong alkali or weak alkali, thus speeding up the development speed of PS plate, increasing the hydrophilicity of the plate and the printing resistance of the plate, and prolonging the service life of the plate. In addition, we should also consider its negative effects on the oxide layer and photosensitive layer on the printing plate surface, such as erosion, dissolution and destruction of the hydrophilicity of the printing plate base surface.
Second, know the concentration of developer.
In order to develop PS plate correctly, it is necessary to know the concentration of developer. Because the PS version produced by each manufacturer has different alkali resistance, the concentration of developer should also be different (the ratio of manual development is usually: one liter of developer to three liters of water). Although the higher the concentration, the faster the development. However, if the concentration is too high, it will dissolve the unexposed photosensitive layer, reduce its inking ability and reduce the dot. In severe cases, it will easily lead to printing plate or off-plate, the place with long thin lines will break, the handwriting on the page will change color (purple), and the printing resistance on the machine is extremely low. When the density is low, the development speed is slow, which increases the development time and even leads to incomplete development. When the computer is used, it is dirty or the layout has obvious shading, which makes it impossible to distinguish between words and shading.
Third, know how to control the temperature of developer.
In a certain range, the temperature of the developer is directly proportional to the development speed, and the higher the temperature, the faster the speed, and vice versa. The most suitable temperature is normal room temperature, which is the best temperature for development. At this temperature, the naked eye can observe the development without much deviation. When the temperature is lower than 5 degrees, the development speed is extremely slow and almost unchanged. At this time, water should be heated to increase the temperature and speed up the development. When the temperature is higher than 35 degrees, the growth rate is too fast and difficult to control, so it should be cooled down. In addition, the cold and hot weather will also affect the development speed, and then affect the quality of ps version, especially when changing seasons, ps version will often be scrapped because of unstable temperature. This requires the operator to adjust by experience.
