According to Article 9 of the Regulations on Continuing Education for Primary and Secondary School Teachers, continuing education for primary and secondary school teachers can be divided into non-academic education and academic education.
(1) Non-academic education includes:
1. New teacher training: training designed for new teachers to meet the needs of education and teaching during the probation period. The training time should be no less than 120 hours.
2. On-the-job training for teachers: training teachers to meet the requirements of work. The training time is not less than 240 hours every five years.
3. Training of backbone teachers: training promising young and middle-aged teachers according to the requirements of the backbone of education and teaching, and training existing backbone teachers according to higher standards.
(2) Academic education: training teachers with qualified academic qualifications to improve their academic level.
Requirements of continuing education for primary and secondary school teachers
1. The funds for continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers are mainly allocated by the government, raised through multiple channels, and earmarked for local education funds. A certain proportion of local education surcharge should be used for teacher training in compulsory education stage.
2. The education administrative departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall set the per capita basic expenses for continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers. The funds for continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers shall be uniformly managed by the education administrative departments at or above the county level, and shall not be withheld or misappropriated.
3, approved by the administrative department of education and schools to participate in continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers, enjoy the wages and benefits stipulated by the state during the study period. Tuition and travel expenses shall be implemented in accordance with relevant local regulations.
