Zhao Rong, born in 1978, party member, China, graduated from Peking University in 2002 with a master's degree. In the same year, he worked in the Institute of Water Environment of China Academy of Water Sciences, engaged in environmental research, and is now the secretary of the Youth League branch of the Institute of Water Environment.

Since Comrade Zhao Rong joined the work, he has loved the Party and the country, worked hard and kept his feet on the ground, and has made great achievements in all aspects, which has been highly praised by leaders and colleagues.

Ideologically, Comrade Zhao Rong always supports the Party's line, principles and policies, actively participates in various study and discussion activities organized by the Party branch, cares about national construction and scientific and technological development, and pays attention to state affairs through newspapers, television, websites and other media. After every important meeting of the party and the country, she should carefully read the relevant documents, understand the general direction of national development, rejoice in the situation and achievements of national construction, and enhance her confidence in contributing to national construction.

At the beginning of the new year in 2003, the preliminary research work of Zhangfeng Reservoir, a national large-scale reservoir project, entered a tense moment, and Comrade Zhao Rong undertook the task of compiling some chapters of the environmental impact report of the project. Due to the limitation of the national project approval procedure, the owner uses the countdown method to speed up the progress. She braved the heavy snow to go to Shanxi to collect information and conduct investigation and research. When she returned to Beijing from Taiyuan, her coach was trapped in the heavy snow and didn't return to Beijing until two o'clock in the morning. She caught a bad cold because of fatigue, nervousness and hunger and cold on the way. But the next morning, she insisted on rushing to the unit to sort out the information and write the report, and completed the task on time three days later. At the review meeting hosted by the Ministry of Water Resources and the State Environmental Protection Administration, the project report was well received by experts and officials attending the meeting, which ensured the need for the Zhangfeng Reservoir project to be established on time. The employees of the owner's unit were deeply moved, and many people praised them: "The researchers of your Academy of Water Sciences are really good and will cooperate with you in the future." This is the first important task that Comrade Zhao Rong undertook after taking part in the work. As a young woman who has just entered a scientific research unit from school, she is serious and responsible for the country's construction, work and owners, and dares to bear hardships and shoulder heavy burdens, showing good professional ethics and professionalism.

In April 2003, the SARS epidemic in China was extremely tense, and the whole country was filled with an atmosphere of extreme panic. The country was going through a severe test. At this time, the State Council made a decision to speed up the preliminary work progress of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, one of the important reasons is to stimulate the development of the national economy through project investment and make up for the losses caused by SARS to some extent. As one of the project leaders, Comrade Zhao Rong undertook the environmental impact assessment of the Beijing section of the project. In an extremely difficult environment, she went through layers of inspections and various evasive isolation, flew to Wuhan, attended the work coordination meeting on behalf of the comrades of the Academy of Water Sciences and the Design Department, and successfully completed the task. After returning to Beijing, she immediately went to the suburbs of Beijing to inspect the 80-kilometer-long proposed construction site. At that time, all intersections in the countryside were blocked by earth and stone, and vehicles could not pass. The "sentry" at the entrance of the village ordered outsiders to leave far away and not to enter the village. Comrade Zhao Rong and his colleagues overcame many difficulties and obstacles and walked around the field. It took half a month to complete the environmental investigation task with good quality and quantity. In August 2003, the State Council South-to-North Water Diversion Office, Ministry of Water Resources and State Environmental Protection Administration held a report review meeting in Beijing. More than 40 officials and experts attended the meeting, who spoke highly of the quality of the report and regarded it as a model for environmental impact assessment of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. The project also won the second prize of scientific and technological progress in 2004 from the Academy of Water Sciences. Under the great test of the extraordinary period, Comrade Zhao Rong worked hard to ensure that the major national engineering construction projects could be carried out according to the State Council's plan, and once again won the honor for the Academy of Water Sciences.

In July, 2004, Comrade Zhao Rong, as one of the project leaders, undertook another glorious and arduous task-to study the impact of water transfer on the west route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. In August, together with other colleagues in the project team, she went to 20 counties in the Dadu River and Yalong River basins on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in western Sichuan for investigation. The average altitude is 3500 meters, with high mountains and canyons, fast-flowing water, winding mountain roads and long journey. The leaders of hospitals and research institutes are very worried and urge them to ensure safety. The investigation lasted for 25 days, traveled 3,000 kilometers, climbed 4,400 meters of mountains five times, inspected more than 20 rivers, and collected 40 reports. With its meticulous work and decent words and deeds, it won the praise and support of many local Tibetan cadres and masses, and the investigation was successfully completed. In March 2005, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation meeting on the preliminary work results of the West Line Water Diversion Project in Chengdu, with 120 senior officials and famous scholars attending. The meeting was very important and played a key role in the smooth start of the western line project, during which the debate was very fierce. The Report on the Impact of the West Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project on the Water Environment of the Water Diversion River compiled by the project team was affirmed, which gave strong support to the Ministry of Water Resources and the demonstration of the West Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project.

Comrade Zhao Rong lives in the northern suburb of Beijing, far from where she works. She spends a lot of time and effort on her way to and from work every day, but this does not affect her work. Work overtime when necessary, without complaint; When you need to travel, you can be on call. In the preparation of reports, she is always meticulous and strives for perfection. In project collaboration, actively cooperate with others to ensure the efficient work of the team. After work, she also actively participated in business training to improve her business level. In 2003, he participated in the EIA training course and obtained the qualification certificate issued by the State Environmental Protection Bureau. At the end of the year, he also participated in the training course of soil and water conservation organized by the Water Conservation Center, and obtained the qualification certificate of soil and water conservation issued by the Ministry of Water Resources, which laid the foundation for business development. In addition, she has participated in many international conferences in the professional field, actively communicated with experts at home and abroad, and constantly broadened and improved her professional level.

With full enthusiasm, positive working attitude and fighting spirit, Comrade Zhao Rong treated every work seriously and meticulously, successfully completed various research topics and achieved gratifying results. She learned more knowledge in her own professional field, made positive contributions to national construction, and won honor for the Academy of Water Sciences.

In 2003, Comrade Zhao Rong served as Secretary of the Youth League Branch of the Institute of Water Environment. When she first served as the Communist Youth League Secretary, it happened that the Institute of Water Environment recruited a group of young comrades. The office of the Institute of Water Environment is relatively independent, with a certain distance from the headquarters of the Academy of Water Sciences, and the young members in the Institute have little communication with other comrades in the Institute. Considering this situation, when organizing various youth activities in the college, she always actively encourages and arranges young people in the college, especially those who have just joined the work, so that they can have more opportunities to contact with others, feel the collective care and share the joy of the big family of the Academy of Water Sciences.

In order to let everyone relax after busy work and get into work in a better state, she actively organizes physical exercise activities such as badminton and table tennis. These activities not only enhanced the communication among young people, enriched their spare time, and enhanced the cohesion of the Communist Youth League organization, but also won the praise of other employees of the Institute.

At the same time, as the secretary of the Youth League branch, Comrade Zhao Rong actively cooperated with the Party branch of the College and played a positive role.
