Introduction to Jiangsu Second Normal University Jiangsu Second Normal University is a provincial ordinary undergraduate school featuring normal education and focusing on training primary and pre-school teachers. The school, formerly known as Jiangsu Institute of Education, was founded in 1952. It is one of the 17 public undergraduate schools established earlier in Jiangsu Province in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. During the period of 1959, Jiangsu Institute of Education took the lead in holding general undergraduate education among provincial colleges of education. During the "Cultural Revolution", the school was once closed, and 1978 reopened and began to recruit ordinary college students. 1996 resumed the enrollment of ordinary undergraduates, and enrolled five-year general junior college students in 2003. In 20 13, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was changed from a provincial adult undergraduate school to a provincial ordinary undergraduate school and renamed Jiangsu Second Normal University. The school has three campuses, Caochangmen, Pukou and Xiaoxing, covering an area of 524.32 mu, and another Lishui campus covering an area of 120 1 mu is under construction. The construction project of Lishui Campus has been listed as the only educational project in Jiangsu Province for two consecutive years, and it is expected to be completed and put into use in 20 18.
At present, the school has 14 teaching colleges, 26 undergraduate majors and 2 master of education training majors, covering education, literature, science, management, art and other major disciplines. At present, there are 93 19 full-time students, among whom full-time teachers account for 48.64%. 36.5% of teachers have a doctorate or above.
The school has a long-term accumulation of teaching and scientific research in undergraduate normal education. At present, there are 1 national and provincial excellent teacher training plan reform projects, 1 provincial brand specialty, 3 key specialties, 6 characteristic specialties, 9 excellent courses, 3 provincial key construction disciplines, 0/innovation team, 65,438 key construction laboratories and 3 demonstration centers for experimental teaching and practical education, and in recent years, they have successively won provincial excellent teaching. 20 12-20 16, teachers and researchers published 1503 articles in journals above the provincial level, including 23 articles in SCI/EI journal 147 articles in authoritative and CSSCI journals and 3 articles in other core journals/kloc-0. The school is rich in educational resources. It is the national training base for backbone teachers and principals of primary and secondary schools, the pilot training base for principals of primary and secondary schools of the Ministry of Education and the only experimental base for teacher education reform in the province.
Jiangsu Institute of Educational Modernization held by the school has been recognized as a provincial-level key training think tank, and Jiangsu Teacher Training Center, Education Administrative Cadre Training Center and Teacher Qualification Certification Guidance Center are all subordinate institutions of the school, forming a fully functional teacher education management service system for basic education.
The school has carried out extensive international exchanges and cooperation, and has successively established cooperative relations with more than 20 universities and research institutions in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania, and jointly established Confucius Institutes and 1 "China and China Research Center" and "Russia and Russian Cultural Center" with foreign universities.
