My three-year experience as a police assistant may be influenced by movies and cartoons at that time. When I was a child, I admired resourceful and brave policemen very much, so it has always been my dream to be a policeman when I grow up. However, eighteen years later, I didn't enter the public security system, because I wanted to be a policeman, to make people clap their hands and make gangsters feel scared. Instead, I entered a state-owned super-large chemical enterprise, dealing with towering iron towers, various valves and pipes with different thicknesses all day. Facing the cruel reality, I can only let my childhood dreams disappear like those lost years. Three years ago, a notice in the ningbo evening news newspaper caught my attention. At that time, in order to curb the frequent theft cases on buses in our city, the Public Security Branch of the Municipal Public Security Bureau joined hands with Ningbo Bus Company and ningbo evening news to recruit and set up the Ningbo Anti-theft Volunteer Brigade. To my surprise, among our supernumerary policemen, there are not only employees from enterprises like me, but also civil servants with enviable careers, laid-off workers struggling for a living, and even private enterprise bosses with assets of one million. In the past three years, like me, they have patrolled bus stations and some large-scale cultural and sports activities in Ningbo, regardless of returns and gains and losses, because they all have an expectation to contribute themselves to the social peace in their hometown.

In the process of anti-pickpocketing by supernumerary police for three years, I cooperated with the team members alone and arrested 43 pickpockets. In June 2005, I was honored to be named the anti-piracy activist of the year, and I was commended by the Municipal Public Security Bureau at the celebration of the third anniversary of the establishment of the anti-piracy brigade. But more often, it brings me chagrin and regret, because in the process of anti-pickpockets, I often expose the target because of careless stalking, which makes pickpockets alert to potential dangers and flee the scene in a hurry; Sometimes, because of the slow response, the pickpocket moved the stolen goods and failed to catch all the stolen goods, resulting in the pickpocket being unable to be punished according to law due to lack of physical evidence. This also made me deeply understand the sweat and hardships of our people's police to protect the safety of one party and understand the hardships of their work after participating in the anti-smuggling volunteers. I wanted to take part in voluntary anti-pickpocketing activities persistently, hoping to catch up with those excellent anti-pickpocketing players and compete with them in the future anti-pickpocketing process. Unfortunately, at the end of last year, due to physical illness after major surgery for hepatic hemangioma, I will have to quit the volunteer anti-stripping brigade with a little nostalgia and sadness, and I will have to leave those players who have been fighting side by side for three years. But what makes me feel gratified is that our voluntary anti-smuggling brigade has been more and more affirmed and supported by all walks of life and the broad masses. At the beginning of this year, the CCTV brand column "News Investigation", which was once dominated by criticism, rarely affirmed our obligatory anti-piracy brigade. At present, more and more citizens support or participate in anti-piracy activities in various ways. Every year, when the anti-piracy brigade expands its enrollment, there will always be touching scenes in which citizens enthusiastically sign up. Nowadays, all kinds of volunteer teams are growing in Ningbo, and their service scope is also expanding. In today's China, in addition to the people's police, which is an important force to maintain social order, those non-governmental organizations play an inestimable role in prevention and treatment. Among them, the auxiliary police (that is, the joint defense team, which is also called the police coordinator, security guard and security guard in some places) is an irreplaceable team.

So, what kind of team is the auxiliary police?

China Auxiliary Police only appeared after 1950s and 1960s. With the rapid development of China's social economy and the increasingly complex public security situation, the existing police force of public security organs is far from being able to complete heavy public security work, making many tasks extremely passive and difficult to carry out. In this context, China Auxiliary Police came into being.

China Auxiliary Police is a non-governmental organization for mass prevention and treatment. Legally speaking, the auxiliary police have no police rights such as law enforcement power and investigation power. The auxiliary police are professional, and they are paid as well as the national staff.

China's auxiliary police are not state employees. The salary of the auxiliary police is not guaranteed by the national financial department, but depends on the policies issued by various localities to raise funds or seek sponsorship from the society. Therefore, the salary of auxiliary police officers is relatively low (generally one-third or even one-quarter of that of police officers). In terms of rights and interests, most auxiliary police officers have no protection, such as labor rights and personal insurance rights and interests are blank.

Auxiliary police is an unknown team in China. Auxiliary police are not policemen, but they are engaged in work closely related to the police. When illegal and criminal activities occur, when the people ask for help, the auxiliary police will be duty-bound to rush to deal with them, even if it is bloodshed and dedication. I believe this is impossible for ordinary citizens.

Due to the problems of treatment and security, the development of China Auxiliary Police has been stagnant. The auxiliary police everywhere come and go in a hurry, and regard the auxiliary police work as a small post on the road of life, and never regard the auxiliary police work as a career. Just like this, there are many violations of law and discipline in the auxiliary police force in China, and the quality of personnel is uneven. Auxiliary police are a hodgepodge. Due to the lack of strict recruitment standards, anyone can enter.

Auxiliary police are indispensable in China. Participating in emergency rescue and disaster relief, conducting public security patrols, cleaning up the floating population, and assisting public security organs in arresting various criminal suspects are all necessary work contents of the auxiliary police. The existence of cheap auxiliary police has undoubtedly solved the serious shortage of police force at present. According to the survey, 60% of police stations,1/kloc-0 patrol teams and public security duty points in most counties and cities in China are auxiliary police.

Because of the special status of the auxiliary police, any policeman can point at the auxiliary police, even if it is illegal or criminal. Many times, some auxiliary police officers violate the law and discipline because of poor police quality. However, once the incident is investigated for responsibility, the auxiliary police often do not have a good result (although they are often wronged). In May this year, two policemen and three auxiliary policemen in Bazhou, Hebei Province were suspected of extorting confessions by torture and then burying their bodies, which is a good example. If it weren't for the instigation or permission of the two policemen, I don't think the three auxiliary policemen would take part in extorting confessions from men in Northeast China by torture.
